Nexus | Kid’s Community of Tomorrow

Imagining a future city—designing an immersive environment where children can explore autonomy and engage in role-play to learn about modern civic, industrial, and agricultural practices.

Over a ten-week period, I developed a comprehensive plan and preliminary prototype for a children’s entertainment and education complex. Envisioned as a modern “kid city” or pretend play environment, the concept is designed to optimistically reflect the contemporary world and prepare children for the future ahead.

Upon arrival, children receive a “metro ticket to tomorrow,” transporting them to an immersive space where they can explore greater autonomy and independence, under docent oversight. In this environment, they engage with peers in pretend careers while learning about modern civic, industrial, and agricultural practices tailored to their future lives. Meanwhile, guardians can unwind or stay productive in the Skylounge, a dedicated space designed with their comfort and convenience in mind.

This innovative concept reimagines traditional play spaces, offering children a dynamic platform to build confidence, collaborate, and develop skills relevant to the rapidly changing world around them.

Our Mission

Defining our purpose—creating a pretend city that reflects current realities and future trends, introducing modern, practical, and sustainable practices through fun, immersive role-play.

We aim to create a pretend city where children can explore various occupations, structured to reflect both current realities and realistic future trends.

Through role-play, we aim to introduce modern, practical, and sustainable practices in a fun, immersive environment.

Thematic Design

Blending eras—styling the environment after the City of Tomorrow, merging mid-century modern design with contemporary visions of the near future to create a timeless, inspiring space.

Final Deliverable: Process Book
